Job Description

To plan and organise then end-to-end (E2E) processes relating to aftermarket services for aircraft parts, engines, tools, supply chain management and vendor management (external and internal) to deliver efficient operational support to aircraft maintenance at optimal cost. Manage in-house capability and alternate repair & supply development to enable supply chain efficiency and reduced cost of ownership.

Job Outline:

- Provide support and lead assigned team to ensure effective delivery of dept objectives. Manage the team performance by regularly reviewing progress, identifying areas of improvement and providing training and development support to optimise team performance.

- Engage with cross functional stakeholders as required to effectively manage the domain and support end-to-end planning and control across the process chain.

- Manage relationships with external stakeholders as required to ensure optimum service and support
Component Repairs

- Manage aftermarket support activities for aircraft parts and tools to provide effective and on time material support and at optimal cost.

- Review, assess & action Repair Quotations, Scrap Advice Warranty for aircraft parts and tools dispositions and liquidated damages in accordance with existing bilateral contracts and/or Product Support Agreements (SSC/PSAA).

- Maintain close coordination with Material Planning and Operational Support teams to identify critical spare requirements and assist with effective support for planned or unplanned emerging demands.

- Lead and manage key programmes (landing gear, escape slide overhaul programme, etc.) Coordinate with the external repair site and in-house workshop to support availability as per the scheduled plan.

- Organize and manage processing of unserviceable components for dispatch to external service provider and/or in-house overhaul workshop for repair and overhaul.
- Organise the Repair Process & Dispatch areas to ensure effective utilisation of space and maintain Health and Safety requirements.

- Organize and manage shipping and logistics of aircraft parts, engines / APU and tools to suppliers for repairs or to outstations and from suppliers after repair and / or under purchase orders, to support the fleet operation.
Power Plant Repairs

- Manage aftermarket support activities for APU, Power Plant LRUs and Nacelle to provide effective and on time material support and at optimal cost.

- Review, assess & action Repair Quotations, Scrap Advice Warranty for APU, Power Plant LRUS LRUs and Nacelle dispositions and liquidated damages in accordance with existing contracts and/or Product Support Agreements

- Manage effective demand planning by maintaining close coordination with Material Planning, Operational Support, Power Plant Shop in identifying critical APU, Power Plant LRUs and nacelle requirements and assist with supporting planned or unplanned emerging demands. Continuously ensure that support material forecast is aligned with the scheduled and unscheduled demands.

In-House Capability & Alternate Repair & Supply Development

- Manage the In-house Capability and Alternate Repair & Supply development processes.

- Maintain liaison with overhaul workshops, Maintenance Planning, Procurement and Technical Services to effectively manage processes.

- Coordinate with stakeholders to formulate in-house repair, alternate repair and supply development list for review.

- Ensure all business cases are objectively and thoroughly reviewed and data verified prior to approval submission request.

- Manage projects under development and ensure regular updates to all stakeholders and senior management are provided. Escalate issues impacting project timelines to achieve early resolution.

Engineering. Maintenance Control : 5+ Years

Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) :

Degree in Engineering / Business degree Experience in Airline Engineering / Supply Chain and MRO Procurement Function

Knowledge/skills:
- Degree in Business and/or Engineering
- Experience in an Airline, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or Maintenance Organisation.
- Knowledge of interpretation of repair contracts, proposals and the ability to carry out technical reviews.
- Extensive knowledge of relationship structuring and of managing supplier performance.
- Sound understanding of airline engineering and maintenance activities.
- Strong aptitude to create, sell in and implement business processes is essential. - Strong project management skills in a global supply chain environment.
- Ability to benchmark on a continuous basis the supply markets for a given spend commodity.
- Previous experience with aviation line/base and engineering maintenance services would be a plus.
- Familiarity of airworthiness regulations (GCAA/FAA/EASA) is essential
- Specific domain (aircraft) expertise and authority would be a plus.
- Strong analytical skills.
