Job Description

Responsible for planning, organising, directing and leadership of all Engineering Department operational support services in the areas of Maintenance Planning, Material Planning and Purchasing, Inventory Control, Component Repair, Engg Technical Services, Design Organisation, Technical Reliability, Engineering IT systems. Ensure that aircraft maintenance is planned in a way that ensures all airworthiness requirements are met whilst achieving the most optimal cost of maintenance through careful use of direct resources and materials. Provide leadership to a large multi-disciplinary team ensuring that they are motivated, capable and resourced to achieve Engineering department objectives of providing Safe, Airworthy aircraft that operate reliably and cost effectively.
- Work closely and at all levels of management with manufacturers, vendors and other stake holders within Emirates (such as FO, IFS, PC&VS etc) to ensure that the contracted operational reliability and performance are achieved in delivering optimal on-time performance while meeting Customers\xe2\x80\x99 expectations.
- Work closely with Projects Section [New Aircraft development and deliveries] to support and ensure that newly delivered aircraft conform precisely to Emirates\xe2\x80\x99 specifications, that no significant quality issues exist and that any non-conformities are documented together with satisfactory commercial / technical remedies in place via manufacturers Commitment Letters and aftermarket planned activities,
- Provide leadership of major Engineering Projects to upgrade aircraft/ equipment managing multiple technical disciplines of Engineering Department, multiple suppliers and multiple Emirates\' departments. Predominantly this will involve IFE/cabin interiors reconfiguration projects but may also include other initiatives as instructed via the Fleet Development committee from time to time.
- Lead and guide ALL direct sectional activities related to development/performance/reliability/modifications of aircraft primary structure, cabin, mechanical systems, and avionic/electrical systems, Maint. Prog effectiveness, program escalations, Engine TOW, Component repair costs and TATs etc.. By establishing smart KPIs (budgetary, project costing, planning, implementation, monitoring, review, and improve/control cycle) in order to ensure ALL sections are managed effectively and delivering cost-effective results and outputs, while delivering optimal customer experience.
- Hold [ or assign] the position Head of Design (HOD) as it exists within the company\'s approval granted by EASA (under part 21) to produce in-house design changes to aircraft. Responsible to lead the growth of the design capability for cabin interior modifications.
- Interact at senior level with aircraft manufacturers, vendors and repair agencies in order to ensure that all major issues of poor aircraft reliability, performance, repair and/or spares delivery are resolved to the best advantage of the company. Initiates and builds business partnership with major Airlines and Original Equipment Manufacturers for Inventory Pooling, Repairs and development of local workshop capabilities in order to further optimise investment in Inventory.
- Responsible to establish accurate controls of Maintenance related direct cost resulting from material consumption, repair charges and direct labour man-hours. Pursue alternate sourcing strategy to reduce material costs, where possible, while preserving quality and durability.
- Develop policy, implement strategies, and lead Initial Provisioning activities together with on-going material support activities to maintain high material service levels whilst optimizing investment.
- Develop Digitisation/Automation strategies for implementation across the Dept. Chair the Engg IT Steering Committee and actively pursue cost-effective, efficient, and cutting edge Engg and Maintenance solutions.
- Formulate strategy and direct the development of long-term maintenance plans (5 to 10 years), heavy maintenance plan (2 years) and short-term maintenance plans for Emirates fleet to support Commercial Operating Plan while complying with Maintenance Schedules (airworthiness) requirements.

- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) OR Aircraft maintenance Engineers License
- At least 15 years in a relevant senior Engineering Role.
- Preferably with a post graduate business qualification.
- Experience in Aircraft Engineering and Maintenance of which will have been at a management level in support or operational areas.
- Proven track record of leading change management.
- Proven track record in leading a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience of managing in a diverse multicultural environment.
