Position Overview
Borouge is seeking a highly experienced Regional Tax Manager to oversee tax and customs matters across Asia South and Asia North. The role covers direct and indirect tax compliance, transfer pricing, customs planning, tax controversy, and strategic tax projects. Reporting to the Head of Group Tax, the position requires expertise in international tax, customs negotiations, and risk management to support Borouge's global growth agenda.

Core Duties

  • Manage corporate legal entity structures across multiple regions, supporting mergers, acquisitions, funding, and international assignments.
  • Lead tax and customs planning, ensuring compliance with transfer pricing guidelines and identifying customs duty-saving opportunities.
  • Negotiate with tax and customs authorities for exemptions, incentives, and favorable rulings.
  • Identify and mitigate tax risks including permanent establishment exposure, withholding tax implications, and BEPS-related issues.
  • Oversee tax data integrity initiatives and automation of reporting processes using SAP and tax-related software.
  • Advise on dividend distribution, intercompany transactions, and funding proposals.
  • Support broad-based projects related to tax and customs governance, providing research, reports, and executive-level presentation material.
  • Manage tax disputes and controversy, including settlement negotiations, post-settlement remediation, and authority submissions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax compliance, filings, and accounting provisions across the covered regions.
  • Approve tax disclosure notes, Country-by-Country (CbC) notifications, and ensure adherence to financial close deadlines.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; professional tax certification preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in tax consulting and leadership roles within multinational corporations.
  • Proven track record in international tax, transfer pricing, customs planning, and dispute resolution.
  • Prior experience in the petrochemical industry is advantageous.
  • Accredited Tax Practitioner/Advisor is a plus.
  • Strong project management and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at senior levels.
