Summary

Grid Automation PMO is supporting the regional Operations Head, Cluster leaders and Region management in managing projects portfolio, defining and following financial and operational KPIs, coordinating tasks within departments to maximize organization efficiency and defining standards and processes when necessary.

The Regional PMO Leader is responsible for project operations and programs support including standardization, quality management, document management, methods creation and maintenance, process improvement and tools for the project management function. Impacts departmental operations and
responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance. Major Responsibilities: GENERAL
  • Deploy project management best practices within the unit/clusters.
  • Monitor, consolidate and communicate in close coordination with Operations head an overview of unit/clusters activity and performance
  • Coordinate operations and business activities across unit/region departments, with Grid regions and Product Line central teams
  • Be a contributor to Compliance & EHS/Safety actions and performance: be fully compliant with GE rules and processes. Ensure the application of the GE financial instructions and the Grid Automation instructions in Sales, Delivery and Support Units. Participate to EHS monitoring actions, perform HSV
  • Follow GE compliance Policies (\xe2\x80\x98The Spirit and The Letter\xe2\x80\x99) and promote open reporting
OPERATIONS
  • Preparation of Risks and Opportunity for Revenue Plan covering all activity involved in a business. Monthly exercise to be performed to check if business objective is in check.
  • Revenue forecasting with Project Managers.
  • Book and Bill preparation, review on orders which can be converted to sales in the short period cycle.
  • Participation to business budget and forecast preparation for the financial year and its landing.
  • Project Review scheduling and planning by local, business or corporate review.
  • Project documentation review.
  • Monthly Project Reviews calls for and leads regular project reviews.
  • Budget Deviation Request management & consolidation for business reporting.
  • Cash collection & billing data by project consolidation and review with stakeholders.
  • Project Operation KPI tracking.
  • Apply the right and most suitable tools with respect to type of projects (size, activity and complexity).
  • Deployment of Project Management Fundamental / Quality Plan to ensures and controls the use of Project Management processes and tools,
  • Controls the execution of action plans issued from project reviews with focus on anticipation of events, risks identification and management, cash position.
  • Reports identified or anticipated deviations to the Business Management and proposes corrective actions.
  • Project Closing consolidation.
  • Set standards for how projects are run.
  • Ensure project management standards are followed.
  • Gathering of project data and production of information for management review.
  • Source of guidance and advice for project managers.
  • Managing and facilitating the portfolio management process.
  • Portfolio financial and operational management via KEOPS, and monthly appropriate reporting.
  • Deployment of project management processes and tools, in particular Project management Handbook rollout and implementation, best practices sharing between units that are part of the WEA region.
  • Lead improvement actions that improve projects\xe2\x80\x99 execution performance, monitor these actions and their sustainable implementation at operational level.
  • Support to Unit Operations management for: Project organization setup, staffing and workload management.
  • Make sure all the Lessons Learned from the projects are shared with the stakeholders involved in the related topics. Define process at Region Level with the Quality Leader to track the preventive actions and check the expected improvements.
FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE
  • Consolidate the Key Performance Indicators and support Operations in preparing the business reviews of the region. Explain actuals compared to monthly/quarterly/yearly forecasts.
  • Sales forecast and Sales-push process implementation
  • Cash forecast and Cash-push process implementation
  • Support Operations in budget preparation for the unit in all the steps from the market assessment to the consolidation reporting. Validate the figures from the order intake to the IFO and Cash.
  • Ensure reliable financial data is reported coming from the units (Revenue recognition, Contract margin recognition\xe2\x80\xa6)
  • Work with the Project Managers/Controllers to reduce the Deferred Charges, with actions to maximize the billing events in overall portfolio.
SUPPORT TO CLUSTERS AND UNITS
  • Assist in Cluster governance reviews such as Monthly Business Reviews, Project Portfolio Review, Budget.
  • Ensure participation to Grid Automation governance meetings: monthly R&O & push sales calls, monthly region calls, support and provide data to monthly projects portfolio management and reviews including BCR management and anticipation of customer issues.
  • Support the Cluster Ops leaders for instructions deployment within the unit / across clusters.
Qualifications / Requirements:
  • Degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Engineering and Business knowledge, with possible experience in T&D/ Energy/ Grid / substation automation activities.
  • Min 10 years of experience in project, business or financial management domain of projects.
  • Fully fluent in English and preferably also Arabic speaking.
  • Knowledge of SAP/ERP, Project Structure and Project tools.
  • Energy and Automation background will be a plus.
  • Willingness to travel 20%.
