About the role
This role offers immediate & direct oversight, management and influence over the Lotus Importer and Distributor network in Middle East, Africa and India (MEAI - currently 9 markets, expected to be 14 over next two years).

You will be responsible to deliver order, wholesale and retail objectives for the MEAI market via implementation of Sales, Marketing, Aftersales and Network Development strategies \xe2\x80\x93 which have been pre-agreed at with the APAC & Middle East Regional first line.

This is a key role as the expert in all trends, data and happenings in the MEAI and wider Asian automotive markets \xe2\x80\x93 referring data and knowledge back to the Regional and Global teams.

You will maximise key media, influencer and industry relationships to generate opportunities for Lotus in MEAI region.

Reporting to the Regional Director, you will work closely with Heads of Sales, Marketing, Network Development and Aftersales in the Regional Head office to deliver your objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Retail & Wholesale performance vs target
  • Order plan vs target
  • Revenue and margin performance vs target
  • LAP / Bespoke sales targets \xe2\x80\x93 incl. VIP low volume special project sales & Bespoke feature content targets
  • Local distributor Marketing & Product campaign planning and performance
  • Brand & PR communications in the local markets
  • Support of homologation requirements allowing import & registration of cars
  • Launch and implementation of new commercial programmes, including tactical support and incentive initiatives.
  • Supporting resolution of technical issues, lead by the Field Service Engineer(s) in the regional team
  • Supporting implementation of pre-agreed Network Development strategies and training plans \xe2\x80\x93 lead by the Network Development regional function
  • Auditing of MEAI Importer/distributors and if required, ad-hoc, the retailer network against retail and aftersales standards
  • Support of local and digital training activities
  • Product planning & data expert for the responsible markets
  • Customer relations management, as an initial escalation point when and if required, over and above the Lotus MEAI Importer/Distributors function.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Personal Profile & Behaviours
  • The applicant must have strong interpersonal skills with all levels of management and directors in order to develop and influence the performance of the Lotus Importer and Retailer network.
  • Both wholesale and retail motor industry experience necessary; experience of dealer processes, and wholesale and retail finance operations essential. Retail marketing and lead management knowledge essential. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications essential.
  • Tight control of budgets, and day-to-day management of the entire retailer network very often as a solo operator with minimal day to day management.
  • High level technical knowledge in order to successfully converse with technical people.
  • Must have complete commercial focus, with motor industry experience necessary. EV / New Energy vehicle experience & knowledge is a benefit, to support the continual transformation into our EV future.
  • Engaging, personable, and remaining highly motivated in this diverse and dynamic role.
  • Expected to operate within widespread time zones allowing business to be conducted between UK, UAE, China and APAC & MEA markets. Overseas travel to visit head offices, factories and other markets.

Qualification & Experience:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree (or equivalent) in a business-related area, E.g Business, Marketing, Engineering, economics, commerce
  • Proven experience in broad automotive role(s)
  • Good presentation skills (written and verbal) and ability to use PowerPoint & especially Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively at various levels.
  • Excellent planning skills with strong ability to think strategically.
  • Strong and proven business acumen skills
  • Good understanding of all Commercial organisation and business processes
  • Ideally has knowledge of local languages or willingness to learn.
  • Strong desire to learn and progress.
