This position is located at our corporate office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Overview:
The AMAN Regional Security Director for EMEA (RSDEMEA) will be responsible for the security and safety of all AMAN assets, personnel, guests and visitors at all AMAN properties in the EMEA region. Through outreach, threat intelligence, and support services to members of the AMAN community, the RSDEMEA implements physical and technical security policy, protocol and standards for all AMAN interests throughout the EMEA region.

The RSDEMEA coordinates immediate security and safety support to AMAN properties and personnel domiciled in the EMEA region. The RSDEMEA also offers governance and assurance on all security related matters related to the AMAN\xe2\x80\x99s EMEA regional engagement.

Reporting to the Head of Global Security for AMAN the RSDEMEA is committed to facilitating EMEA region engagement with AMAN GMs, EMEA property-based Security Directors & engineers in adherence to AMAN global security policy and protocols. The RSDEMEA will work collaboratively with internal AMAN partners and external vendors, effect liaison with law enforcement agencies, security services and governmental entities to accomplish the goal of keeping AMAN assets, staff and guests safe and secure.

In coordination with the Global Head of Security, the RSDEMEA will lead directly on issues of security governance, standards, policies, incidents and assurance for AMAN security within the EMEA region and supervise the work of all AMAN property-based Security Director\xe2\x80\x99s.

The RSDEMEA will be required to develop threat and risk intelligence from a variety of sources specific to the EMEA region where AMAN maintains a presence. The RSDEMEA will ensure all AMAN properties throughout the EMEA region are in compliance with AMAN Global Security policy related to crisis management, critical incidents, physical security training, AMAN travel security and executive protection when required.

The RSDEMEA will also oversee the administrative reporting requirements associated with all facets of security in the EMEA region, including budgeting and hiring and address Global Security Head requests and reporting as requested. Responsibilities:
  • Drive, implement, and ensure compliance in the EMEA region AMAN Global Security policy and protocols in mitigation of security threats and operational risks to AMAN assets, personnel, guests and visitors
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of operational risks related to AMAN properties and development sited in the EMEA
  • Work with key stakeholders (GMs, local Security Directors, Engineers, Human Resources, IT and Cybersecurity, Regional Counsel and ExCom) to maintain and enforce property-level standards and policies related to regional security and AMAN operations
  • Solicit and incorporate input from key stakeholders in the EMEA region to ensure buy-in around global security standards and policies
  • Conduct security audits and assessments on AMAN EMEA properties and developments in evaluating the effectiveness of AMAN Global Security and safety measures implemented by the Head of Global Security
  • Follow up on documented recommendations to ensure appropriate security enhancements are accounted for in property CAPEX and implemented in a prioritized manner
  • Advise and report to the Head of Global Security and local AMAN EMEA property leaders on emerging or imminent threats and risks to AMAN interests stemming from geopolitical or other security and safety developments in the EMEA
  • Constantly improve and measure the effectiveness of the security strategy, security personnel, security vendors, and security technologies for AMAN EMEA
  • Initiate and maintain effective security outreach to EMEA law enforcement, security and intelligence services, fire prevention professionals, and governmental bodies in support of information sharing and emergency response affecting AMAN interests
  • Ensure all EMEA properties have required emergence response and evacuation plans in place and regularly scheduled exercises are being conducted and documented accordingly
  • Lead and coordinate decision-making around incident management and emergency response in the EMEA region. Provide support to first responders in the EMEA region for security incidents, travel-related incidents and regional crises
  • Assist and coordinate on the hiring of any local Security Director or security vendor at any of the AMAN EMEA
Qualifications:
  • University degree required or significant experience in a hotel security setting, law enforcement or military services
  • 10+ years progressive work experience in safety and security
  • Luxury hotel experience required
  • Knowledge and experience in developing strategic security and loss prevention plans in EMEA
  • Strong people skills and the ability to work under pressure with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, plan and implement successful security strategies and processes
  • Strong team player and ability to foster relationships and collaborate across disciplines and geographies
  • Proven history of opening hotels
  • Expert knowledge of CCTV, access control and hotel security systems
  • Extensive experience of reviewing technical drawings for security systems and providing accurate feedback
  • Expert in creating security budgets and capex processes
  • Good investigation experience, with the ability to write precise case reports and exhibiting evidence
  • Excellent safety experience, and a working knowledge of safety legislation in the EMEA region
  • Experience in delivering security and safety training
  • Arabic speaking a major advantage
