Job Description

Job Purpose:

To install, repair, and maintain refractory bricks, castables, and insulation materials in industrial furnaces, boilers, kilns, reactors, and other high-temperature equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Install refractory bricks, monolithic castables, fire-clay, and insulation materials. Carry out bricklaying, ramming, gunning, casting, and patchwork as required. Cut, shape, and fit refractory bricks and blocks using hand tools and power tools. Prepare mortar, castable mixtures, and insulation material. Remove damaged refractory and clean surfaces for new installation. Apply ceramic fiber blanket, boards, and other insulation linings. Follow specifications, drawings, and supervisor instructions for lining work. Perform curing, drying, and heat-up procedures as required. Operate mixing machines, vibration tools, and brick-cutting machines safely. Inspect completed work for alignment, thickness, expansion joints, and quality. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Strictly follow safety procedures and wear PPE at all times. Assist with scaffolding support and handling refractory materials.

Qualifications & Skills:

Proven experience as a refractory mason / refractory technician. Knowledge of refractory bricklaying, castable lining, and insulation installation. Familiar with industrial furnaces, boilers, kilns, ladles, and chimneys. Understand expansion joints, curing, and heat-treatment processes. Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting and working in hot environments. Ability to follow drawings, measurements, and work instructions. Safety-focused and able to work in confined spaces, heights, and industrial sites.

Preferred Experience:

Experience in oil & gas, steel plants, power plants, cement plants, or smelters. Familiarity with refractory materials: fire bricks, high-alumina bricks, castables, insulation bricks, ceramic fiber, gunning mix, etc.

On-site industrial environments (heat, dust, confined space, height work) Requires physical effort and use of PPE
