Role Summary
DP World is seeking a Reefer and Cooling Systems Trainee Technician in Dubai, UAE to gain hands-on training and experience in the maintenance and repair of reefer containers and general cooling systems. This entry-level role provides exposure to diagnostic work, fault analysis, spare parts selection, and preventive maintenance practices while ensuring compliance with DP World's safety and operational standards. The trainee will work closely with senior technicians and supervisors, building skills across engineering functions including plant, crane, mechanical, and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn and assist in planned maintenance of reefer and general cooling systems.
• Support diagnostic inspections to identify faults and repair methods.
• Assist in the selection of spare parts using manufacturer manuals.
• Maintain workshop tidiness and safe working conditions.
• Provide progress updates and report issues to supervisors.
• Gain knowledge in electrical and mechanical systems used in DP World engineering operations.
• Participate in continuous learning across different engineering departments including cranes, plant, and auxiliary equipment.
• Support senior technicians in repairs and operational readiness of equipment.

Ideal Profile

• Diploma or vocational qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Refrigeration Engineering preferred.
• Strong interest in reefer and cooling system maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical or electrical systems is an advantage.
• Willingness to learn and ability to work under supervision.
• Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and commitment to teamwork.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
