Job Description

OneRoad Group racecourse operations manager is responsible for ensuring a successful racecourse with overall responsibility for health and safety, and the day-to-day operation of OneRoad Group racecourse working closely with ground staff, sales and hospitality and catering teams and all service providers. Main Duties - Direct and control the staff of the department to ensure that are appropriately trained and motivated and carry out their responsibilities to the required standards. - Have responsibility for the track ensuring a best practice approach to maintenance of the track and monitoring conditions to ensure racing can take place in line with OneRoad Group regulations and health and safety requirements. - Work with the Track Foreman to continually improve the racing surface and all associated racing facilities embracing progressive and innovative methods for development and improvements. - Maintain regular contact with members to obtain feedback about their needs and their opinions of the services provided by OneRoad Group. - Develop and control the budget for the operations department required to meet OneRoad Group objectives and at the right times. - Develop all necessary policies and procedures to ensure that a safe and healthy working environment is maintained. - Act as the OneRoad Group main adviser on all issues relating to operations and keep abreast of the latest developments to ensure the racecourse maintains its competitive position. Skills and Experience Required

• Knowledge of racing industry and key industry personnel

• Relevant operations and facilities management experience

• At least 3-5 years' experience of managing and leading a team

• Horse care & welfare. Equine transportation. Facility management & maintenance.

• Experience of managing sites with open access to the public.

• Ability to lead a project, from initiation to completion to a satisfactory outcome for all parties

• Experience of managing significant budgets, including staff in both Operational and Project environments

• A qualification in project management or event management would be an advantage.

• Management experience of a large venue or site with multiple departmental reporting is desirable
