Overview of the role

The purpose of the position is to provide support to the Commercial Lead and the Project Lead on all the commercial and contractual matters on the project.

What you will do

Day to Day Operations

- Provide support to Sr. Q.S during the procurement of subcontract package

- All Quantity Surveying duties including measurement, valuation and agreement of work sections.

- Providing support to the Sr. Q.S. in preparation of interim applications for payment and internal valuations.

- Liaise with Design and Operations teams to identify changes/variations in a timely manner with appropriate notices issued to the Engineer.

- Measurement and preparation of Bill of Quantity for Variations.

- Contract administration of allocated subcontract packages from inception to final account including subcontractor liability, payment certificate and final account.

- Review, negotiation and agreement of subcontractors\' submitted variations, claims, and final accounts.

- Writing contractual and commercial correspondences and replying to the subcontractor\'s, Employer\'s, and Engineer\'s contractual and commercial.

- Assisting Sr. Q.S. in preparation of Key Figure Report, PRM\'s, EOL\'s and other internal commercial reports.

- Assisting Sr. Q.S. in preparation of the main contract final account, including pricing.

- Ensure that line manager is fully advised of any issue/risk which has arisen or might arise and which could affect the business/project

- As a member of a project team advising and providing strategic input and commercial expertise to support to the project

- Identification and implementation of process and /or efficiency improvements

- Ensure accurate labour records/allocation is prepared and maintained on site for preparing labour productivity and labour related variations and claims.

Safety, Quality & Environment

- Ensure that all relevant safety, quality and environmental procedures, instructions and controls are adhered to so that the safety, quality of services and environmental compliance can be guaranteed within AFC

- Continuous Improvement

- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of process and practices taking into account, the interests and benefits to Al Futtaim and its employees.

Other Task

- Any other reasonable request of work/ task as allocated by the Line Manager

Required Skills to be successful

\xe2\x88\x92 Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in similar role

\xe2\x88\x92 Track record of success in supporting a main contract over the value of AED 50mil

What equips you for the role

\xe2\x88\x92 Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineer and/or Quantity Surveying

\xe2\x88\x92 Working towards Membership of Professional Body (RICS or CIOB) - Preferred.

\xe2\x88\x92 Good understanding of commercial and financial acumen

\xe2\x88\x92 Good knowledge of one or more complex functional or business area
