Quantity Surveyor (Civils, Utilities & Infrastructure)

We're hiring on behalf of a reputable utilities contractor for a skilled and commercially minded Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

In this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing subcontractor procurement, managing payments, and maintaining accurate contractual documentation. You'll monitor budgets and forecasts, and prepare detailed monthly cost and value reports. A key part of your role will involve identifying commercial risks and exploring value engineering opportunities to support project efficiency and profitability. You'll also manage variation trackers, maintain risk registers, and review cost reports to ensure effective financial control throughout the project lifecycle.

This role requires a strong understanding of commercial and contractual matters. You'll be expected to provide advice on change control and claims management, while ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. You'll work closely with accounts and project teams to maintain compliance, accuracy, and a strong commercial focus. Supporting the closure of final accounts and project documentation in a timely manner will be essential. In addition, you'll play a role in mentoring junior surveyors, helping to develop their skills and foster a culture of commercial awareness across the team.

Candidate Requirements:

Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (or equivalent) Experience in civils, drainage, or utilities (water and electricity) is essential Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Excellent communication and negotiation skills Detail-oriented with the ability to meet tight deadlines Full, clean driver's license required
