Quality Officer / Infection Control Officer
Job Summary:
The Quality & Infection Control Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the clinic's quality management and infection prevention & control (IPC) programs. This role ensures a safe environment for patients and staff and compliance with all relevant DOH Abu Dhabi and international healthcare standards.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Development & Management: Develop, maintain, and update the clinic's Quality Improvement (QI) and Infection Control (IC) plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Infection Prevention: Monitor IPC practices, conduct regular audits, and ensure adherence to sterilization, disinfection, hand hygiene, and waste management protocols. Manage outbreak investigations.
  • Quality Assurance: Coordinate clinical audit cycles, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and analyze data on patient safety, incidents, and outcomes. Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for reported incidents.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure continuous readiness for inspections and accreditation surveys. Maintain all documentation required by DOH Abu Dhabi and other regulatory bodies.
  • Training & Education: Organize and deliver mandatory training for all staff on QI and IPC topics, including new hire orientation and annual refreshers.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential clinical and operational risks and work with the Clinic Manager to implement mitigation strategies.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on quality metrics, audit findings, and infection rates for clinic leadership and regulatory submissions.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Microbiology, Public Health, or a related medical field.
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and/or Infection Control (CIC) certification is highly desirable.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of direct experience in quality and infection control within a UAE healthcare facility.
  • Thorough knowledge of DOH Abu Dhabi standards, JCIA, and international IPC guidelines.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and training skills.
