About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented

Quality Control (QC) Engineer

to join our team in the UAE. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in

steel, aluminium fabrication, and tensile shade structures

while ensuring strict compliance with project specifications, codes, and quality standards. This role requires both technical expertise and the ability to coordinate with consultants, site teams, and management to maintain high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.

Experience:

4-8 years in QS/QC roles within steel, tensile, or fabrication industries.

Technical Knowledge:

Strong background in BOQ preparation, cost estimation, QA/QC documentation, and site inspections.

Core Skills Required

BOQ preparation, cost estimation, material take-off, and project billing. Proficient in drawing analysis, project specifications, and quality inspection checklists. Skilled in weld inspections, bolt torque tests, and alignment checks for steel structures. Ability to prepare and review payment applications, variations, and client billings. Strong understanding of QA/QC documentation, site reporting, and handling NCRs.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct inspections of incoming materials, fabrication works, and site installations. Verify welding, bolt tightening, steel alignment, and finishing standards (paint/galvanizing). Prepare and maintain QA/QC records, inspection reports, ITPs, and method statements. Coordinate with consultants for inspections and ensure compliance with technical specs. Raise NCRs where applicable and monitor corrective/preventive actions. Ensure compliance of workmanship and materials with project drawings and standards.

Software & Tools Proficiency

Must Have:

MS Excel & Word AutoCAD (basic level - for quantity extraction/layout review) ERP or project costing tools QC reporting formats

Preferred:

Familiarity with ISO QA systems, AISC/BS codes, and civil/steel structure standards. Knowledge of NDT basics, calibration logs, and material traceability.
