The Quality Control (QC) Engineer - Civil Works is responsible for ensuring that construction activities comply with engineering standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role involves inspecting civil works such as earthworks, concrete, steel structures, roads, and utilities to maintain quality standards throughout the project lifecycle. The QC Engineer works closely with project managers, site engineers, contractors, and third-party inspectors to ensure quality and safety in all aspects of construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement quality control plans and inspection test plans (ITPs) for civil construction projects.
Inspect construction materials and workmanship for compliance with drawings, specifications, and codes.
Conduct on-site inspections for earthworks, concrete pouring, reinforcement, formwork, asphalt paving, etc.
Monitor subcontractor and vendor quality performance and adherence to project standards.
Prepare and maintain quality documentation including inspection reports, NCRs (non-conformance reports), and test records.
Coordinate with third-party testing laboratories and review material test results (e.g., soil compaction, concrete strength).
Identify and report quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and support corrective and preventive action implementation.
Participate in internal and external audits related to civil works.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during inspection activities.
Provide technical guidance and training to site personnel on quality standards and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
1-3 years of experience in quality control for civil or infrastructure projects.
Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and testing standards .
Experience in interpreting civil engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Proficient in preparing and reviewing inspection reports, test results, and quality documentation.
Strong attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in Quality Control/Assurance.
Experience with infrastructure projects such as Villa.
Working knowledge of construction management software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera, Procore).
Knowledge of local and international construction codes and standards.
