Inspect and test incoming raw materials including fragrance oils, ethanol, solvents, and water.
Inspect and approve/reject incoming packaging materials (e.g. bottles, pumps, caps, boxes, labels).
Review supplier COAs and verify identity, purity, and conformity to specifications.
Check for physical defects, color variation, size accuracy, print quality, and compatibility with product.
Monitor perfume compounding and blending processes.
Check alcohol percentage, color, clarity, density, and pH of in-process batches.
Should be familiar to use lab equipments such as Spectrophotometer, ph meter, Refractometer,
Moisture Analyser, KF Titrator, Cap Torque Tester, Bursting Strength Tester, Leak Test Apparatus.
Conduct sensory (organoleptic) evaluations to ensure consistency with approved standards.
Inspect final perfume products for appearance, scent, fill volume, packaging integrity, and label accuracy.
Conduct routine inspections during packaging operations.
Verify correct assembly: bottle-pump-crimp-cap alignment and label placement.
Monitor fill levels, sealing, leak testing, spray/crimp functionality (if applicable).
Inspect outer packaging, barcodes, batch numbers, and overall presentation.
Perform random sampling and quality checks on finished goods.
Report and document any deviations or non-conformances.
Maintain detailed records of all inspections, test results, and non-conformance reports.
Fill out checklists, inspection forms, and QC reports.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in quality control, preferably in cosmetics or fragrance industry.
Good sensory evaluation skills (smell testing ability is crucial).
Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and good communication skills.
Knowledge of GMP, ISO 22716, and IFRA standards is an advantage.
