Job Summary

The Quality Control Manager will be responsible for overseeing all quality control activities across raw materials, in-process production, and finished products. The role requires strong hands-on laboratory experience, effective coordination with R&D and Production teams, and strict adherence to quality standards, ISO requirements, and safety protocols to ensure consistent batch quality.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Control & Testing

Conduct and supervise routine QC testing and quality checks of raw materials, in-process batches, and finished products Perform hands-on laboratory testing as per defined test methods and specifications Ensure batch-to-batch consistency through in-process and final product quality checks Review, verify, and approve raw material analysis reports before use in production Approve or reject raw materials, intermediates, and finished products based on test results

Laboratory Management

Set up, organize, and manage the QC laboratory, including test methods, equipment, and workflows Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and upkeep of all lab instruments and equipment Maintain safe laboratory practices in line with safety and compliance standards

Documentation & Compliance

Prepare, review, and maintain QC documentation, including test reports, COAs, SOPs, batch records, and quality logs Monitor and control chemical parameters as per product specifications and standards Ensure compliance with ISO standards, internal quality systems, and safety regulations Support internal and external audits related to quality and laboratory operations

Cross-Functional Support

Work closely with the R&D team for sample testing, trials, and new product development Provide quality support to the Production team during trials, scale-up, and routine manufacturing Investigate quality issues, deviations, and customer complaints, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

Inventory & Resource Management

Manage QC laboratory inventory, including chemicals, consumables, reagents, and reference standards Ensure timely availability of lab materials and maintain accurate inventory records Coordinate with procurement for lab-related purchases and approvals

Requirements & Skills

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a Quality Control role within a chemical manufacturing environment Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Paints & Coatings Technology, or a related field Strong hands-on laboratory testing experience Sound knowledge of chemical testing, QC parameters, and analytical methods Experience with raw material testing, in-process control, and final product quality assurance Familiarity with ISO standards and safety practices Ability to set up and manage a QC lab independently Strong documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills Good coordination and communication skills
