The Quality Control Manager (Client Side) is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities, materials, and workmanship comply with the project's quality requirements, specifications, codes, and standards. This role involves monitoring the contractor's quality performance, conducting inspections, and enforcing the client's quality objectives to ensure timely, project delivery with high quality.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Assurance & Compliance
Implement and enforce the client's Quality Management Plan (QMP).
Ensure contractor's work complies with project specifications, IFC drawings, codes, and statutory requirements.
Review and approve contractor's method statements, ITPs, material submittals, and shop drawings from a quality perspective.
Monitor contractor adherence to approved procedures and processes.
2. Inspections & Site Monitoring
Conduct routine site inspections and surveillance to verify workmanship quality.
Witness, review, and approve inspections as per ITPs.
Identify and document any non-conformities (NCRs), quality violations, or unsafe practices.
Follow up on corrective and preventive actions until full closure.
3. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain quality records, including inspection reports, NCR logs, QA/QC documentation, test reports, and material certifications.
Prepare daily/weekly quality reports for client management.
Participate in internal and external quality audits.
4. Contractor Performance Management
Evaluate contractor's QA/QC personnel performance and highlight deficiencies.
Coordinate with contractor representatives on technical issues, NCR closure, and improvement actions.
Ensure effective communication between client, consultant, and contractor on all quality matters.
5. Testing & Materials Control
Verify all materials delivered to site meet project specifications and approved submittals.
Ensure testing is conducted by accredited laboratories and results meet acceptance criteria.
Review material traceability, calibration certificates, and test documentation.
6. Handover & Close-Out
Ensure all quality documentation (O&M manuals, as-built drawings, test reports) is complete and compliant.
Participate in snagging, de-snagging, and final handover inspections.
Validate final quality compliance before project completion and handover.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
Minimum 10+ years of experience in QA/QC roles, preferably on the client/consultant side.
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, QA/QC procedures, and construction standards.
Experience in high-rise building,
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage contractors and enforce quality requirements.
Certifications such as PMP, CQE, or ISO Lead Auditor are an advantage.
