Summary: VES is looking for a Quality Inspector to join our team in our Dammam, Saudi Arabia location, This person will Supervises and coordinates with manufacturing and workshop managers that the local QMS (Quality Management System) to ensure the continuous production of products consistent with established standards. Coaches, supports, instructs, and ensures the commitment of local management to effectively operate at a high level of QA/QC (Quality Assurance / Quality Control) capabilities. Follows company safety policies and procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with production supervisors to maximize product reliability and minimize costs. Manages workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over material, facilities, and products. Reviews the certifications created by the production team and uploads all associated documents related to production orders (i.e. material certifications, dimensional reports). Updates SAP with material specifications for production orders. Communicates overall improvement priorities across assigned organization. Provides status of current projects, results to date, and recognition for top performers regularly. Conducts first off stage and final inspection on tools assembled in the warehouse. Verify and ratify the information included in the Bit Request, Production Order and/or Complition Request. Inspects Semifinished and Finished PDC and RC Drill bits, following drawing, assembly and manufacturing instructions processing updates in the raw material and/or process. Inspects all stages up to final assembly and inspection of finished products. Conducts visual inspection of products before departure to final customer. Carries out Dye Check and Bond Line inspection with any additional process to ensure no defects in the product. Records inspection results in an accurate and timely manner. Stamps relevant identification on completed and/or semi-finished parts. Works with QHSEE and HR to plan and deliver product quality and reliability training activities for assigned group. Raises and creates non-conformance/concession reports (NCR/CRs) for non-complying products based on QC assessment. Updates register with details of in-house non-conformances to QHSSE Manager by creating NCRs. Compiles, consolidates, summarizes, and submits reports required by management. Verifies conformance to the QMS (Quality Management System) and ensures that all necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines. Issues corrective actions as required. Develops tools to improve and support QA/QC reporting requirements. Holds reviews of corrective actions, evaluates against benchmarks, and develops, communicates, and executes action plans for improvement. Analyzes conformance and compliance data on an on-going basis and develops recovery plans as needed. Coordinates the corrective/preventive actions and the internal audit program in assigned area. Education and/or Experience: Preferably three years of related experience High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of inspection methods, standards, practices, procedures, and quality assurance/control concepts. Competencies: Perform all essential duties. Read and comprehend requirements of the QMS including client specifications, procedural requirements, and other quality standards and documentation. Exercise judgment against the criteria of the Quality System standards. Resolve non-conforming products and process irregularities during the inspection process. Investigate and respond to inquiries or complaints from customers and communicate with suppliers to get quality problems resolved. Collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and recommend solutions promptly. Effectively communicate with all levels of internal and client personnel. Manage and actively participate in project teams and to work within multi-discipline / multi-national environments. Develop processes, work instructions, procedures, and training to implement operational needs. Show proficiency in Microsoft Office, including MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel and with a QMS system. Comprehend and communicate accurately, clearly, and concisely in English. Spanish and French a plus. Proficiency with: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). ASQ certification in quality management is preferred. Knowledge and applications experience with ISO 9001 (International Standard Organization) and Quality Management Systems. Working knowledge and training in the ISO-9000 Series international standards, or equivalent. Basic knowledge of audit and audit Reporting requirements. Knowledge of the process approach including audit methodology, questioning techniques, roles, and responsibility to collect and analyze evidence. Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within oil & gas manufacturing and services preferred. Sound understanding of business linkages and the ramifications that decisions can have.
