We are looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team and play a key role in our Middle East Team. Reporting to the Head of Operations, this individual will contribute to the development and management of quality assurance and governance processes in order to ensure that the underwriting and claims functions operates in accordance with established rules and frameworks.
This role will be based in Gate Village 5, DIFC, Dubai UAE.
Job Accountabilities

As Quality Assurance Specialist, your role will involve:
  • Provision of effective relationship management between local and central operations, risk-based assessment; identification and monitoring and continual improvement activity
  • With local knowledge and expertise, provides effective liaison between Market Facing and Technical Underwriting and Claims (e.g. assisting referral dialogue), where appropriate.
  • Participate in reviews, where appropriate.
  • Support elements of the Technical Underwriting Review and Technical Claims Governance Review processes.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of underwriting and claims procedures manuals.
  • Contributes to the on-going development, implementation and maintenance of governance tools and quality control peer review processes (including The Zurich Way, Technical Underwriting Review, Technical Claims Governance Review), where appropriate.
  • Handles a range of analysis and advice to support the development of effective local and central governance processes and practices.
  • Contributes to the development of business effectiveness through monitoring of activity and making recommendations for change/remedial action (e.g., correct use of tools, and delegation).
  • Supports analysis activity with respect to quality outcomes.
  • Ensures business compliance with regulatory compliance (including Zurich Risk Policy and Multinational Insurance Proposition).
  • Facilitates and supports technical development of underwriters and claims handlers through competence assessment processes and underwriting and claims review activities.
  • Provides guidance to lower - level associates and proactively supports the development of self and others.
  • May participate in Integrated Assurance Activities and actions, as appropriate, e.g. to identify key risks, identify requirements for future programs.
  • Technical Underwriting Reviews, Technical Claims Governance Reviews, local review and quality assurance activities are completed within agreed parameters (time, quality, costs).
  • Data quality is maintained to agreed standards.
  • Accurate and timely reports on agreed business activity are provided.

Job Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent
  • 5 or more years of experience in Underwriting, preferably in the Reinsurance field
  • Knowledge of underwriting philosophy and techniques, risk selection, rating, and pricing concepts and how these relate to profitability
  • Other Professional qualifications such as CII
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and problem solving skills
  • Exposure to Insurance Legal and Regulatory environment
  • Well-versed in Insurance Finance and Actuarial concepts
  • Excellent stakeholder management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience operating in a global environment
