Roles and Responsibilities

A. Instrumentation Quality Control

Inspection and Testing

Review and implement

Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)

for field instruments, DCS/PLC systems, fire and gas systems, and control panels. Ensure

calibration, loop checks, and functional tests

are completed per project requirements. Verify

instrumentation installation

against P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and hook-up drawings.

Hazardous Area Compliance

Ensure compliance with

ATEX/IECEx standards

for equipment and wiring in hazardous zones (Zone 0, 1, 2). Supervise installation of

Ex-rated equipment

(e.g., flameproof enclosures, intrinsic safety barriers). Maintain

certification records

of hazardous area equipment and perform periodic inspections.

B. Mechanical Quality Control

Welding & Fabrication

Approve and monitor

WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications)

and

PQRs (Procedure Qualification Records)

in line with ASME/API standards. Ensure all welders hold valid

WQT (Welder Qualification Test)

certifications. Supervise

NDT activities

(UT, RT, PT, MT) and review associated reports.

Mechanical Equipment & Piping

Inspect installation and alignment of

pumps, compressors, tanks, pressure vessels

, and rotating equipment. Review

hydrotest and pneumatic test packs

for piping systems. Oversee bolt torqueing, flange management, and leak testing.

Welding & Fabrication

o Approve and monitor

WPS, PQRs

, and

WQT

in accordance with ASME Section IX / AWS D1.1.

o Supervise

fit-up, welding, and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT)

processes.

o Oversee

NDT activities

(RT, UT, MPI, DPI) and verify reports.

o Ensure proper

traceability of materials

(plates, pipes, fittings) via MTCs (Mill Test Certificates).

Skid Assembly & Equipment Installation

o Inspect fabrication, alignment, and installation of:

Structural frames, base plates

Piping, valves, pumps, vessels

o Verify compliance with project layout drawings, 3D models, and P&IDs.

o Oversee

mechanical completion checks

, including

hydrotesting

,

flushing

, and

bolt torqueing

.

C. General QA/QC Management

Compliance and Audits

Lead internal and external

quality audits

, including vendor and subcontractor audits. Ensure compliance with

ISO 9001

, project specifications, and client quality standards.

Documentation and Reporting

Maintain comprehensive

QA/QC records

, including calibration certificates, inspection logs, NCRs, and test reports. Prepare

quality dossiers

and turnover packages for mechanical and instrumentation systems.

Commissioning Support

Support mechanical and instrumentation

pre-commissioning and commissioning

activities. Coordinate with discipline leads to ensure

punch list

items are closed prior to handover.
4. Lead resolution of

NCRs, CARs

, and site quality issues; implement root cause analysis and corrective actions.

5. Develop, implement, and maintain

Project Quality Plans

,

ITPs

, and procedures for mechanical and instrumentation scopes.

6. Maintain complete

as-built documentation

and final QA/QC turnover dossiers.

8. Interface with

clients, EPCs, and third-party inspectors

for approvals, audits, and inspections.

Required Qualifications and Skills

B.E./B.Tech in

Instrumentation, Mechanical, or related engineering

field. 8-15 years in oil & gas QA/QC roles with strong multi-discipline exposure. In-depth knowledge of

ASME, API, IEC, ATEX, ISO 9001

standards. Familiarity with hazardous area classifications and hazardous

equipment

QA/QC certifications (e.g.,

CSWIP, API 570/510, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor

) preferable

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED8,000.00 per month
