The role is part of the Avani Team based at Dubai Science Park Showroom and reports to the Office Manager as well as working closely with the GM of Operations Team.
Develop and execute sourcing strategies to meet business needs.
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure optimal terms.
Verifies purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list; clarifying unclear items; recommending alternatives.
Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment.
Forwards available inventory items by verifying stock; scheduling delivery.
Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from requisitioning department.
Obtains purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers; monitoring and expediting orders.
Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers.
Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents.
Provides purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
Coordinate and Track Shipments
Once order requests or purchase orders are received, it is up to the Logistic Officer to manage the pulling and packing of materials and arrange appropriate transportation.
Among the tasks that might need to be completed in this responsibility include freight consolidation, cost analysis, routing and scheduling.
Logistic Officers must also track shipments to ensure they arrive on time and that shipment and delivery processes adhere to any pertinent regulations.
Analyze Supply Chain Systems
The Logistic Officer must ensure that all aspects of a logistics team, such as shipping, warehousing and procurement, are working together to fill out orders and deliver materials on a timely basis.
They will review all processes and systems and design and implement new plans and procedures as needed. They are also responsible for creating and maintaining contingency plans.

Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
Understanding warehouse and inventory computer systems
Creating shipping/delivery routes and schedules
Tracking shipment progress
EDUCATIONAL / WORK EXPERIENCE:
At least 3 years' experience in the same or related role within the UAE or GCC.
Candidate with good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding and able to generate cost savings with basic knowledge about logistics.
