Our client, a well-established business with operations in cement and concrete products, is looking to hire a Purchase Engineer, who has experience in

Local /Overseas (Engg & Non-Engg) & (Shipping, Customs) product within Local/Overseas market. The applicant should be high on integrity.

In this role, your responsibilities will include but not limited to :
  • Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise and review the work of local purchase and store department staff.
  • Confer with department representatives to determine purchasing requirements and specifications.
  • Supervise stores activities, control inventory levels, and make reports on slow moving, non-moving and obsolete stocks for appropriate action.
  • Analyze and evaluate the cost, quality and suitability of supplies, services, materials, and equipment against specifications.
  • Optimum use of financial resources by selection of most cost effective products.
  • Assist Purchase Manager in the preparation and administration of department budget.
  • Maintain contact and negotiate with vendors; keep informed of new products; develop new sources of supply; evaluate vendor performance.
  • Establish schedules and methods for providing purchasing services and implement policies and procedures.
FRAMEWORK, BOUNDARIES AND DECISION-MAKING

- The position reports to the Purchase Manager and is responsible for sourcing, evaluation and price negotiation of goods and services; and establishes effective relationships with inter-department staff, suppliers, customs, and regulatory authorities.

- The job holder is to work within the guidelines set by the Purchase Manager.

- Work is regularly reviewed by the Purchase Manager.

Requirements

TO be considered for this you must fulfill the below criteria:

Mechanical Engineer with additional qualifications in Purchase and Inventory Management.

7-10 years experience in Engineering Industry at a supervisory level.

Negotiating skills. Knowledge of SAP with Material Management Module, Communication and Man management skills.

Arabic speaking is an added advantage.

Candidate must have a valid UAE driving license.

Must be willing to be based and work in Sharjah.

Should have a strong clientele and can tactfully handle the material purchase.

Candidates having experience in relevant fields and the market, currently out of the UAE willing to apply and relocate can also be considered for this position.
