XYZ Designers is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Project Manager - Design to oversee the design management of large-scale architectural projects in Dubai. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of delivering high-value projects and possess strong leadership, coordination, and technical expertise within the UAE market.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design management process from concept through IFC stage, ensuring alignment with client objectives, regulatory requirements, and project goals. Coordinate with internal architectural and ID teams, as well as external subconsultants (MEP, structural, landscape, etc.), to ensure integrated, coordinated design output. Review and manage design deliverables, schedules, and milestones in accordance with project requirements and contractual obligations. Represent the firm in all client, consultant, and authority meetings related to design development and approvals. Ensure that all submissions comply with Dubai Development Authorities, Civil Defense, and relevant building regulations. Identify risks, manage design changes, and maintain control over design scope, quality, and budget throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare and present design reports, progress updates, and coordination matrices to stakeholders and senior management. Monitor consultant performance and manage coordination across disciplines to ensure timely resolution of design issues.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from a recognized university (BSc Arch is mandatory). Minimum 10 years of professional experience, with at least 7 years in the UAE market, specifically Dubai. Must have successfully managed at least two (2) completed projects in Dubai with a construction value exceeding AED 100 million each. Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary design teams through complex projects under tight schedules. Solid knowledge of UAE building codes, authority approval processes (Dubai Municipality, DDA, Trakhees, etc.), and international design standards. Strong communication, client-facing, and leadership skills. Proficiency in project management tools (Primavera, MS Project) and design coordination platforms (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks is a plus).

Preferred Attributes:

PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials is an advantage. Experience working in a design consultancy or architectural firm of reputable standing in the UAE. Capable of handling high-pressure environments with multiple stakeholders and shifting priorities.
