To oversee, coordinate, and ensure the effective planning, execution, and monitoring of capital and facility-related projects at UAEU, ensuring alignment with strategic and operational goals. The role involves acting as the liaison between university stakeholders and external consultants, defining project scopes, timelines, and outcomes, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and according to institutional requirements, with strict
adherence to safety, quality, and documentation standards.
Tasks and Responsibilities
1. Represent the facility needs of the UAEU colleges and departments to the consultant.
2. Ensure that university departments receive and provide timely and thorough responses to FMD and consultant requests for information or specification reviews.
3. Communicate with university management on the status of UAEU requested space requirements that have been included in or excluded from the most current new campus facilities designs.
4. Maintain regular contact with consultant to define the scope of projects and the resulting implementation plans.
5. Define the benefits, costs, and expected key results and success criteria for defined projects for the new campus projects.
6. Define project stages and the objectives and costs associated with each stage.
7. Monitor and report on project progress in a structured manner, drawing particular attention to any major deviations from the original project plans.
8. Review all projects and modify performance measures as necessary.
9. Coordinate health and safety matters related to new facilities and physical plant staff.
10. Maintain comprehensive detailed space mapping for all colleges and units.
11. Troubleshoot any relocation problems and propose resolution.
12. Ensure consistent and accurate administration of engagement projects including maintenance of databases and distribution of information.
13. Maintain electronic copies of all project correspondence.
14. Implementation of operational plans related to organizational unit that cascading down from the strategic plan
15. The implementation of all the required functional tasks taking.
16. Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of facilities management principles in an academic setting.
In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g.,
PMBOK or other).
Familiarity with architectural, engineering, and construction processes.
Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance regulations.
