Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Project Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating project specifications, preparing cost estimates, and ensuring that all materials and resources are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires a strong understanding of logistics, production planning, and supplier management to facilitate successful project execution.

Duties

Analyze project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work and required materials. Prepare accurate cost estimates by evaluating labor, materials, and overhead expenses. Collaborate with project managers to develop comprehensive project budgets and timelines. Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable terms. Manage materials procurement and logistics to ensure timely delivery for projects. Conduct root cause analysis on any discrepancies between estimated and actual costs. Utilize MRP systems for effective tracking of inventory levels and production schedules. Coordinate with fabrication teams to ensure alignment between estimates and actual production capabilities.

Skills

Strong knowledge of materials management principles and practices. Proficiency in contract negotiation techniques to achieve optimal agreements. Familiarity with logistics processes related to construction or manufacturing projects. Ability to perform root cause analysis to identify issues impacting project costs or timelines. Experience in negotiating with suppliers for competitive pricing and quality assurance. Understanding of production planning methodologies to enhance efficiency. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
