Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly capable MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) Estimation and Procurement Assistant Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of MEP systems, strong experience with construction design drawings, and proven skill in producing accurate and competitive cost estimates. You will collaborate closely with our design, procurement and project teams to secure new business and support ongoing projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings, specifications and tender documents. Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for mechanical, electrical and plumbing works. Develop accurate cost estimates (labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors) for MEP packages. Analyse design drawings and identify potential risks, value-engineering opportunities and cost-saving measures. Liaise with vendors, subcontractors and internal teams to obtain pricing and quotes. Prepare bid submission documentation and support tender evaluations. Monitor project cost databases and update unit rates, cost benchmarks and historical data. Support project handover to construction teams, ensuring estimates align with budgets and actuals. Stay current with industry trends, MEP technologies and market pricing.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Minimum 2 years' experience in MEP estimation in construction (commercial, industrial or high-rise). Strong knowledge of MEP systems: HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, power, lighting, ICU/GDP, BMS (as applicable). Proficient with reading and interpreting construction drawings (architectural, structural, MEP) and specifications. Experience with quantity take-off tools, estimating software or spreadsheets. Excellent analytical, numerical and cost-control skills. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage multiple tender opportunities. Familiarity with local construction codes, standards and practices is a plus.
