Job Purpose

The Professional Affairs Associate’s primary role is to grow the reach of Professional support in Saudi Arabia. This will be achieved by:
  • Optimizing customers’ and key influencers’ awareness of the clinical; benefits of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care’s (JJVC’s) products involving both national accounts and independent practices.
  • Teaching eye care professional how to communicate and fit new JJVC products, using a benefit driven strategy.
  • Support generic educational initiatives to increase knowledge and confidence in contact lens prescribing and fitting.

Key Dimensions

  • To understand the interaction between sales, marketing and national accounts.
  • To support the professional and clinical support needs of Key accounts, training institutions and key independent customers, with their expertise and experience.
  • To understand clinical and performance differences between JJVC products and key competitor products.
  • Keep oriented with the latest research within the Optical field and potentially integrate findings into ECP professional development support.
  • A significant part of the successful applicant’s working time will be spent in travelling within Saudi Arabia.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist MEA Professional Affairs Manager: panel meetings, team training, product launches, practice visits etc.
  • Support practice visits and peer-to-peer recommendation initiative.
  • Actively participate in clinical conferences across Saudi Arabia and also support Local Optical Committee meetings, panel discussions where appropriate.
  • Participate in regular dialogue with ECPs crafted to help support them and gather their views.
  • Leverage The Johnson and Johnson Institute (JJI) facility with accounts.
  • Maintain great relationships and build trust and behavior change in ECPs to the benefit of patients with quantifiable results.
  • Professional support and contact quality from targeted accounts
  • 6.2 % Increase of knowledge and confidence of ECPs to prescribe following educational initiatives

Background Information and Main Activities

This position is intended to increase professional, clinical, and technical support to the sales organization when visiting customers, as well as growing educational and business support to customers. Specifically, to allow a more proactive presence at key account meetings and LOC meetings and provide clinical expertise when required. Additionally, the Consultant would also visit and actively support independent accounts.

Qualifications

Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Optometry or Ophthalmology is a must
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working as Optometrist in a clinic or a store is a must
  • Preferred experience in contact lens fitting
  • Very good in English/Arabic (oral, written, read)
  • Confirmed experience of working successfully in a team.
  • Very good interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • High verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Digital literacy including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

Preferred

  • Experience of delivering training.

  • Members of Middle East PED team.
  • Members of the EMA Professional Affairs Team
  • Customers (Key Accounts, ECPs, Practice managers, consumers).
  • Professional bodies, educational centers, opinion leaders.

  • Handling requests to spend time in the field and also performing remainder of job role (60%)
  • Setting aside time to develop links with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Key National Accounts/Clinics.
