is responsible for overseeing the daily manufacturing operations of
Alkyd Resins
,
Unsaturated Polyester Resins
, and
Emulsion Polymers
. This includes process control, coordination, and supervising all production activities to ensure safety, quality, efficiency, and compliance with company and regulatory standards. The technician should ensure optimal utilization of resources, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production / Process control
Supervise daily plant operations for alkyd, UPR, and emulsion production lines.
Supervise and coordinate production batches according to production plan.
Monitor and control the process parameters through SCADA system to ensure adherence to process specifications.
Ensure correct charging of raw materials as per batch sheets and standard formulations.
Maintain accurate production logs, batch sheets, and process records.
2. Technical Skills:
Knowledge of chemical reactor operation and batch process control.
Familiarity with SCADA / DCS or PLC-based systems (preferred).
Understanding of raw materials (polyols, acids, anhydrides, glycols, monomers, emulsifiers, etc.).
Strong grasp of safety and environmental regulations (ISO, OSHA, etc.).
3. Quality Control
Ensure all products meet quality standards and technical specifications.
Perform testing the in process / mid batch samples and finished batch samples.
Review in-process data and report to the immediate superior.
Maintain records of test results, process data, and quality deviations.
4. Team Leadership & skills
Supervise and train production labors, junior technicians, and shift personnel.
Foster teamwork, discipline, and a culture of safety and accountability.
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Good communication and reporting skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
5. Equipment & Maintenance
Coordinate with the maintenance department for preventive and corrective maintenance.
Ensure all reactors, mixers, pumps, and utilities are in proper working condition.
Report and document equipment malfunctions or downtime.
6. Continuous Improvement
Participate in process optimization, cost reduction, and productivity improvement projects.
Support new product scale-up from lab to plant scale.
Suggest improvements in equipment, process, or workflow to enhance efficiency and safety.
7. Safety & Compliance
Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with environmental and occupational regulations.
Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials and chemicals.
