The Production Incharge oversees and manages the day-to-day manufacturing operations of ducting systems (HVAC ducts, GI ducts, etc.). This includes managing manpower, machines, materials, and ensuring production targets, quality, and timelines are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Control
Develop daily and weekly production schedules.
Allocate manpower and machine resources efficiently.
Monitor progress and ensure on-time delivery.
Supervision & Team Management
Supervise production workers, machine operators, and supervisors.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Provide training and motivation to improve productivity.
Quality Assurance
Ensure ducts meet required quality standards (SMACNA, DW144, etc.).
Inspect raw materials and finished products.
Coordinate with the QA/QC team for issue resolution.
Inventory & Material Handling
Coordinate raw material (GI sheets, insulation, etc.) availability.
Monitor usage and reduce waste.
Maintain stock levels for consumables and tools.
Machine Maintenance Coordination
Ensure regular preventive maintenance of machines (plasma cutters, bending machines, etc.).
Report any breakdowns and follow up for timely repairs.
Reporting & Documentation
Maintain production logs, shift reports, and material consumption records.
Report daily production status to management.
Cost & Efficiency Optimization
Reduce rework, wastage, and downtime.
Optimize layout, processes, and workflows.
Key Skills Required:
Strong knowledge of ducting fabrication processes (rectangular & spiral ducts)
Understanding of HVAC drawings and shop fabrication standards
Manpower management and leadership
Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or ducting software is a plus
Communication and problem-solving skills
Lean manufacturing principles (optional but valuable)
Qualifications:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field
3-5 years experience in ducting or sheet metal fabrication industry
Familiar with HVAC standards like SMACNA, ASHRAE, etc.
