The Production Foreman oversees daily operations in a wood manufacturing facility, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency standards. This role requires leadership, hands-on supervision, and strong knowledge of woodworking processes, machinery, and production scheduling.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of production staff on the shop floor.
Plan and allocate tasks to meet daily and weekly production targets.
Monitor production processes to ensure products meet quality standards.
Oversee the operation of woodworking machines (e.g., CNC routers, saws, planers, edgebanders).
Ensure health and safety regulations are strictly followed.
Train, coach, and evaluate production workers.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and report major problems to maintenance or engineering teams.
Monitor raw material usage and report inventory needs.
Ensure efficient use of labor, materials, and time to minimize waste.
Maintain production records and prepare reports on output, efficiency, and downtime.
Collaborate with quality control and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.
Key Skills & Competencies: Technical Skills:
Deep knowledge of wood types, furniture/cabinet production processes, and joinery.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and production plans.
Familiarity with woodworking machinery, tools, and equipment maintenance.
Basic knowledge of CNC programming (a plus).
Leadership & Management:
Team supervision and people management skills.
Ability to motivate and discipline staff effectively.
Conflict resolution and performance evaluation capabilities.
Organizational Skills:
