Job Description

We are seeking a competent and versatile Production Coordinator & Mechanical Design Engineer to manage both production operations and engineering design in our precision machine shop. This dual-role professional will be responsible for coordinating job assignments for CNC and conventional machines, managing ERP-based workflows, and preparing high-quality 3D models and detailed engineering drawings for machining and fabrication. The ideal candidate should also possess a good understanding of CAM software and be capable of estimating and optimizing production time.

Key Responsibilities:

Assign and schedule machining and fabrication jobs to conventional and CNC machinists through the ERP system. Plan and manage labor shifts, machine usage, and job priorities to ensure efficient production and timely delivery. Track and analyze working hours, material usage, and cost per job, and maintain up-to-date records within the ERP system. Monitor daily production activities, verify job completion, and prepare job-wise and shift-wise performance reports. Coordinate with internal departments like stores, quality control, and procurement to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted workflow. Design and develop 3D models and 2D engineering drawings for: Machined parts Fabrication components Machine assemblies and subassemblies Prepare detailed fabrication drawings, machining drawings, and assembly layouts using SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor. Ensure that all drawings adhere to industry standards, dimensional tolerances, and material specifications. Update or revise drawings as required based on internal feedback or customer revisions. Create and verify basic Mastercam toolpaths to ensure manufacturability and correctness of drawings. Provide accurate production time estimates for machining operations and input them into the ERP for planning and costing. Collaborate with CNC machinists and programmers to optimize cutting strategies, reduce cycle time, and improve production efficiency.
