Job Title Product Development Manager

Description

The purpose of this role is to manage the assigned Products (Fluids, Batteries & Chemicals) portfolio and be responsible for delivering the revenue and profit goals by managing independently their 4Ps (Product, Price, Promotion and Place).

Key Responsibilities * Develop Product Programs Research product line and content Determine product portfolio and making pricing and profitability recommendations to Finance team.Formulate price position, forecast sales volume and set profitability targets (managing product portfolio generating more than $50M in revenues per year).Write product bulletins

  • Enhance Product Programs Perform continuous gap analysis to determine opportunities for portfolio enhancement to generate incremental revenue and contribution margins Monitor revenue and profitability by tracking the sales mix and take corrective actions where required Monitor cost changes and reflect them to protect program profitability Ensure timely availability for new part numbers Maintain adequate liaison with suppliers and platforms for part number updates and promotional support
  • Field Team Interaction and Distributor Support Have regular interaction with the field team to update them on assigned programsConduct program familiarization programs
  • Cataloguing & POS Support Maintain and develop competitive cross reference information Provide information for catalog development Brief marketing for relevant POS material & Dealer tool kits
  • Business Intelligence & SystemsEnhance reporting system to provide business intelligence to sales team for decision makingEnsure that system enhancements are supportedContinuous interactions with US Global teams to understand global offerings and explore innovative ways to incorporate them into our region
  • CommunicationsRole communicates regularly with internal stakeholders from CCA management and FinanceRegular communication with all dealer network to provide guidance on new pricing, new promotions, new product entrants, etc.
  • IPR (Intellectual Property Rights), Parallel Import & PatentsEnforcement of IPR regulations, protecting GM Genuine P&A and ACDelco against counterfeiters & infringersCollaborate with GM Business units to mitigate risk through parallel importsCollaborate with Product & Legal to protect GM Patents & Trademarks on Collision parts
  • Account ManagementManage and closely work with special sales accounts with revenues of $25M-$30M/year.
  • Supplier ManagementCarryout regular meeting with the supplier and work with them to manage the programs/portfolio in the most effective manner.Carrying out the pricing discussion with the supplier to understand the rational behind their price changesWork on cost initiative with the supplier to find opportunity to reduce the cost and other nonvalue additions
  • Liaison with supply chain management team.
  • Carry out regular meetings with supply chain team to ensure that the order management and product delivery is managed smoothly without any obstacles
  • Act as a link between supply chain team and the supplier to ensure smooth operations
  • Review and agree on the program ORTs with the supply chain team
Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competencies

Knowledge and Experience: * Five years plus automotive parts experience preferably in the independent aftermarket
  • Or Five or more years of experience in the Lubricants industry looking after portfolio and supply- chain
  • Working knowledge of automotive parts or Lubricants and Chemicals.
Education: * College degree preferably in business

Preferably Post-graduate degree in business administration (MBA)
