Product And Procurement Manager Ocean Freight

Job Description
Our client is a Multinational Freight Forwarding Company looking for a Product Manager responsible for developing relationships with carriers to procure space and competitive pricing. ***Must be based in the UAE RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develops relationships with carriers to effectively procure the space and pricing for the geographical responsibility
- Creates strategic relationships with ocean carriers
- Procurement on Ocean Carriers (within geographical responsibility)
- Negotiates and maintains competitive service contracts
- Leads communication efforts with ocean carriers and commercial resources to optimize tender strategy
- Builds relationships and supports teams internally (Branches) and externally (customers)
- Works with sales and pricing teams to provide carrier data for bids
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ocean export carrier relations and to present market updates to clients
- Involvement and provide pricing for (within geographical responsibility) RFQ\xe2\x80\x99s
- Works with the restricted commodities team to review and approve restricted commodities requests for export
- Understands FMC regulations to ensure compliance
- Develop, maintain and manage processes related to contracts submission, review, and retention i.e. forms, templates, terms
- Ensure timely response to all RFQs (Ocean & Air) for the UAE and coordinate responses across the Agency network in GCC and West Africa.
- Assist with all export related monthly enquiries for UAE \xe2\x80\x93 local business opportunities.
- Work with core Shipping Lines / Airlines pricing\xe2\x80\x99 teams and maintain relationship, in conjunction with our global/regional relationship.
- Explore possibilities with local NVOCCs and non-core Carriers as the requirement presents itself.
- Minimum 2-4 years of product management experience
- Ability to travel up to 20% (within geographical responsibility)
- Experience in overall procurement (Ocean / Air / Landside).
- Global Forwarding pricing experience.
- Established relationships with key regional Freight vendors.
- Previous ocean export experience
- Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree from an accredited college or university
- Demonstrated negotiation, collaboration, and influencing skills
