Job Purpose:

Strategically manage the procurement of Ocean freight services from global providers and develop pricing strategies that optimize costs, ensure efficient supply chain operations, maintain supplier relationships, mitigate risks, and comply with regulations. This role is vital for organizations engaged in international logistics, as it aims to secure competitive rates, enhance operational efficiency, and support the seamless movement of goods across borders.

Job Accountabilities:

This critical role will drive our global procurement strategy and pricing activities, ensuring our company\'s competitiveness and profitability in the ever-evolving logistics industry.

Global Procurement Strategy:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive global procurement strategy for Ocean freight services.
• Identify and establish relationships with strategic suppliers and negotiable favourable terms and agreements.
• Monitor market trends and fluctuations in pricing to make informed procurement decisions.

Pricing Strategy:

• Analyze market conditions, competition, and cost structures to develop effective pricing strategies.
• Collaborate with sales and operations teams to ensure pricing aligns with customer needs and company objectives.
• Optimize pricing models to maximise revenue and profitability.

Contract Management:

• Oversee the negotiation, creation, and management of contracts with carriers and suppliers.
• Ensure contractual terms and conditions compliance, including service level agreements and pricing structures.
• Review and amend contracts as necessary to adapt to changing business needs.

Cost Control:

• Implement cost control measures to manage and reduce operational expenses while maintaining service quality.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through process optimisation and efficiency improvements.

Team Leadership:

• Lead the global procurement and pricing strategy transversely and animate the regional teams.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to regions, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

• Utilize data analytics tools to generate insights and reports on procurement and pricing performance.
• Present data-driven recommendations to the executive team for informed decision-making.

Responsible for the transversal management and leadership of an engaged team, promoting collaboration and ensuring that each is developed and evaluated against goals and objectives aligned, specific, measurable, attainable yet challenging, realistic and time bound.

Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World\'s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World\'s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Experience & Skill:

• Bachelor\'s degree in a relevant field; a Master\'s degree is a plus.
• Proven experience in global procurement and pricing within the freight forwarding industry, specifically Ocean logistics.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
• Leadership experience and the ability to build and manage a high-performing team.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
• In-depth knowledge of global logistics and supply chain management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced industry.
