The Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing the procurement process of materials, parts, and services for automobile manufacturing. The role demands strong supplier relationship management, cost-effective sourcing, and ensuring that high-quality standards are met within the automotive production cycle. This position requires in-depth knowledge of the automobile industry and engineering qualifications to evaluate technical specifications of components.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Strategy & Planning:
Develop and implement procurement strategies to support the production and operational needs of the company.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to determine material and component requirements.
Supplier Management:
Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers of automotive parts and materials.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement and timely delivery of goods.
Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality, delivery, and pricing.
Cost Control & Budget Management:
Develop and manage procurement budgets to ensure cost-efficiency without compromising quality.
Analyze and control procurement costs, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure that procured goods meet the required specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Work with the engineering team to evaluate the quality and suitability of materials and components for vehicle production.
Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination:
Ensure timely delivery of materials and parts to prevent production delays.
Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to manage inventory and optimize stock levels.
Market Research & Supplier Development:
Continuously monitor market trends and innovations in the automotive industry to identify new suppliers and better sourcing opportunities.
Foster long-term partnerships with key suppliers to ensure strategic alignment and mutual growth.
Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure compliance with UAE laws, regulations, and industry standards in procurement processes.
Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and performance reports for audit purposes.
Risk Management:
Identify risks in the supply chain and procurement process, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure smooth operations.
Monitor geopolitical, economic, and regulatory changes in the UAE that could affect sourcing and supply.
Qualifications:
Education
: Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related fields).
Experience
: Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement management within the
automobile/automotive
industry, with
UAE
market experience.
Skills
:
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Knowledge of supply chain management, inventory control, and procurement systems.
Familiarity with automotive parts and components, manufacturing processes, and quality standards.
Proficient in using
procurement software and ERP systems.
Fluency in
English, Hindi, Arabic is a plus.
