Engineer to join our team and help manage our organization's procurement needs.
Responsibilities include researching new suppliers, ensuring that all purchased products and materials meet our specifications, and negotiating with vendors as needed.
You will also support project managers by overseeing administrative tasks, communicating with stakeholders and ensuring resource availability for the project team
Ultimately, you will work with leaders in our organization to understand the needs of our organization and ensure we achieve our supply goals in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
Prepare proposals, request quotes and negotiate purchase terms and conditions
Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements
Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues and concerns
Inspect and evaluate the quality of purchased items and resolve shortcomings
Analyse industry and demand trends and support senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies
Assist the project manager in the development of project management documents such as project budgets, project schedules, scope statements and project plans.
Execute project management administrative and bookkeeping tasks such as managing invoices, purchase orders and inventory reports, among other financial documents
Supervise the project procurement process
Meeting with project clients to assess their needs and define project requirements, acceptance criteria and project timelines
Coordinate the allocation of project resources to ensure the project team has what's needed at the right time
Assign tasks to team members and help them understand what's expected from them in terms of project milestones and deliverables
Be the liaison between the project team and project clients throughout the project life cycle
Help project managers monitor project progress and team members' performance and provide updates to project stakeholders
Requirements and skills
Proven work experience as a Procurement Specialist or similar role
Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies
Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and with business application software, purchasing and resource planning systems
A bachelor's degree in engineering, Procurement, business administration, supply chain management or a similar field preferred
