Procurement Manager (construction Industry)

Job Description

This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent placement with our group. Key Responsibilities:

  • Choosing the appropriate Vendors to procure from. Procurement manager do extensive industry research, meet with Business Development and compares their Services and Pricing against the benchmarking database.
  • Provides correspondence support for operations team in order to provide optimum input for quotes and realization of potential for savings in any project.
  • Negotiate with suppliers on lead-time, cost and quality so as to obtain the maximum benefit for the company.
  • Make estimations based on the updated benchmark and against market rates and BOQ information.
  • Ensure that all tender operations are coordinated smoothly this includes prequalification / invitation to bid / tender / quotation, assessing them and making recommendations as per Company policy.
  • Ensure commercial, legal and contractual compliances in all procurement transactions.
  • Ensure that all potential suppliers are provided with identical information upon which the quotations are given equal opportunity to meet the desired requirements.
  • Arrange and participate in meetings between suppliers and designated Company Technical staff and other personnel to facilitate standardization and economical procurement.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure long term price-lock-in, maximum credit limit/period, and uninterrupted supplies to the stores and Clients, as may be required.
  • Establish and negotiate proposal and contract terms and conditions including delivery, warranty, damages and insurance etc.
  • Prepare monthly Departmental reports including cost analyses.
  • Manage the relationship between Procurement/Account Payable Function, as may be needed to ensure prompt payment to vendors and proper procurement processes are accomplished.
  • Update Benchmarking Database at all times.
  • Ensure necessary confidentiality is maintained at all times.
Procurement Manager Experience:
  • BSc. University Degree in (Civil) Engineering Work Experience
  • Minimum 12-15 years' hands-on experience of procurement with at least 8 Years in a supervisory position (preferably in Project Management, Consultancy or relevant construction industries), including considerable work experience with reputable companies and a minimum of 10 years UAE experience Knowledge
  • Knowledge of construction procurement processes ? Knowledge of UAE suppliers market
  • Knowledge of ERP system
  • Knowledge of using AutoCAD and reading drawing.
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Good command of the English Language
  • Negotiation Skills
  • Planning, organizing and analytical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
