Job Description

Wood has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Static Equipment Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi, to work on FEED and EPC Projects.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare designs for pressure vessels, heat exchangers and storage tanks in accordance with code and project specifications

+ Preparation of data sheets for vessels, heat exchangers and storage tanks

+ Preparation of project specifications

+ Preparation of material requisitions

+ Evaluation of vendor offerings

+ Review of vendor drawings, calculations and procedures to ensure compliance with specifications

+ Liaising with other engineering disciplines regarding the integration of equipment into overall plant design

+ Liaising with other Company Departments (including Project Management, Procurement, Cost and Planning, Inspection and Construction)

+ Support and contribution to Project Reviews (including HAZOP, Plot Plan, P&ID, ,Value Engineering and Constructability)

+ Provision of support and advice on static equipment matters

+ Degree in Mechanical Engineering

+ Extensive experience, primarily in a contracting environment, working with pressure vessels, storage tanks and heat exchangers on FEED and EPC projects for the oil and gas, refinery and petrochemical industries

+ Mechanical design of pressure vessels using PV Elite (or other commercially available software package)

+ Experience of thermal design using HTRI would be an advantage

+ Familiarity with welding, heat treatment, non-destructive examination, coatings and linings

+ Flexible attitude, with good written and verbal communication skills

+ Familiarity with the following codes : ASME VIII Division 1 and 2, API 620, 650, 660, 661, 662, TEMA

+ Computer literate within Microsoft Office
