The ELV Presales Engineer supports the sales team by designing technical solutions, preparing proposals, and ensuring client requirements are accurately translated into cost-effective and compliant ELV offers. The role involves solution design, BOQ preparation, vendor coordination, and presales support throughout the sales cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Solution Design Understand client requirements and design ELV solutions for CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion Alarm, Intercom, SMATV/IPTV, Gate Barriers, Audio Visual, Structured Cabling, and Networking. Prepare system layouts, schematics, network diagrams, and integration plans. Ensure designs comply with SIRA, Civil Defense, and telecom authority standards.
Presales Support Conduct site surveys and gather technical details. Prepare BOQs, cost estimations, material lists, and compliance statements. Develop technical and commercial proposals. Support sales during meetings, presentations, and technical clarifications.
Vendor & Partner Coordination Work with OEMs and distributors for pricing and technical support. Evaluate products and ensure solutions meet project specifications and authority requirements.
Documentation & Proposal Development Prepare RFI/RFQ/RFP responses, technical submittals, and method statements. Maintain solution templates, product databases, and documentation standards.
Project Handover Support Assist project teams with design clarifications during execution. Participate in internal technical review meetings to ensure accuracy and cost efficiency.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills Strong knowledge of ELV systems: CCTV, ACS, IDS, SMATV, PABX/IP Telephony, Gate Barriers, Networking & Fiber/Copper Cabling. Ability to prepare system drawings, network diagrams, and design documents. Familiarity with brands such as Hikvision, Dahua, Honeywell, Bosch, Axis, Avigilon, Suprema, HID, Cisco, Aruba, HP, etc.
Soft Skills Strong communication, presentation, and documentation abilities. Analytical mindset and strong coordination skills. Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecom, IT, or similar field.4-5 years of UAE experience in ELV Presales. Knowledge of SIRA and authority standards (Civil Defense, Etisalat /DU).SIRA certification is an advantage.
