The Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems and fixtures in residential, commercial, or industrial buildings. The role ensures all plumbing work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:Installation & Maintenance
Install, repair, and maintain water supply lines, drainage systems, and sanitary fixtures.
Install and service pipes, fittings, valves, pumps, water heaters, and other plumbing equipment.
Perform routine preventive maintenance on plumbing systems.
Identify and fix issues such as leakages, blockages, low pressure, and faulty fixtures.
Troubleshooting & Repairs
Inspect plumbing systems to detect problems and malfunctioning components.
Repair or replace damaged pipes, faucets, sinks, toilets, water tanks, and drainage systems.
Clear blocked drains and sewer lines using appropriate tools and techniques.
Respond to emergency repair requests promptly.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure all plumbing work is carried out following safety standards and building codes.
Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping at job sites.
Follow company safety procedures and use PPE when required.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job.
Report major issues or required replacements to the supervisor.
Assist in preparing estimates for maintenance or repair work.
Coordination & Communication
Coordinate with other technicians, electricians, and maintenance staff on joint tasks.
Communicate professionally with residents, tenants, or clients regarding work status.
Support the maintenance team in other tasks when required.
