Job Description

Operation Supervisor (Port Operation /General Cargo) 1.Actively follow and promote the Safety and Security policies and ensure that fellow employees and visitors are doing the same. These policies to be always followed within the port environment to ensure a safe and secure workplace for all. 2.Instructs subordinates in safe working practices maintaining and reporting day-to-day observations in operational areas for unsafe working practices. 3.Ensure proper verbal and documented handover to incoming work shift. 4.Prepare and execute daily toolbox talks on shift start, and as well always once required, ensuring team is up to date with safety and operational requirements and targets. 5.Ensure vessel operations documentation is handed over properly to vessel gangs. 6.Maintain close communication and coordination with operators and other stakeholders in regard of weather conditions, ensuring safety practices and addressing it properly to the line manager. 7.Monitoring the use of the "hot seat" changeover at rest breaks and shift change in an attempt to maintain continuous operations. 8.Monitor and observe vessel berthing and sailing live process, having ahead and live communication with stakeholders ensuring proper preparation is readiness, and as well safety practice and efficient performance. 9.Set proper crane and gang allocation as per plan and as well keep close follow-up with control room ensuring re-allocation readiness for eventual changes required. 10.Responsible to get all operational boarding documents (i.e damage reports, certificates, disclaimers, checklists, etc) duly signed by the vessel's command on berthing and sailing. 11.As the focal point between vessel's command and operations, ensuring stevedores/subordinates follow safety practices and operational plans, reporting immediate abnormality or incidents during operations to line manager and/or vessel's command (vice and versa), i.e damages, broken/missing seals/IMDG labels, reefer/lashing issues, etc; 12.Ensure to have proper OOG and/or Breakbulk plans, and ahead of time prepare material and handling process for smooth and timely operations. 13.Monitor and close supervision of OOG and Breakbulk handling. 14.Provide a proper report of any breakbulk and/or OOG being handled with proper timing and resources/equipment usage. 15.Monitor waterside operations performance addressing corrective actions, change of plan recommendation on any abnormality observed. Address to line management if required; 16.Maintain communication with control room as engineering once observed equipment's breakdown, and have continuous follow up; Job Types: Full-time, Contract
