The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for plumbing systems in large-scale MEP projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial developments across the UAE. This role demands a solid understanding of plumbing engineering principles, market pricing, and project specifications in the local construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) to prepare detailed cost estimates for plumbing systems.
Quantify and analyze plumbing materials, fixtures, and labor requirements from project documentation.
Communicate and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
Evaluate project risks, technical requirements, and identify cost-saving measures.
Prepare and submit technical and commercial proposals that comply with client requirements and deadlines.
Collaborate with project managers, design teams, and procurement departments to ensure estimates align with project execution plans.
Conduct value engineering to propose cost-effective alternatives and optimize project budgets.
Keep up-to-date with industry standards, local authority regulations (e.g., Dubai Municipality, Dubai Building Code), and market pricing.
Participate in post-tender clarifications and negotiations with clients and consultants.
Support project handover and perform cost analysis for ongoing and completed projects.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Plumbing Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of experience in plumbing estimation within the UAE construction sector, preferably with an MEP contracting firm.
Strong knowledge of plumbing systems including water supply, drainage, sanitary systems, firefighting, and gas systems.
Familiarity with UAE local authority regulations (Dubai Municipality, Dubai Building Code, etc.).
Proficient in estimation software (such as CCS Candy, Bluebeam, MS Excel) and AutoCAD.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
