Plumber
Job Title: Plumber
Department: Maintenance / MEP
Reporting To: Maintenance Manager / MEP Supervisor
Job Purpose:
To assemble, install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems used for water distribution, waste water disposal, and gas lines in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
Key Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fittings, and fixtures for water, gas, steam, sewage, and drainage systems.
• Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of various materials (e.g., copper, PVC, iron).
• Locate and diagnose issues in plumbing systems using pressure gauges, leak detection equipment, and other tools.
• Clear obstructions in drains and toilets using plumber's snakes, augers, and hydro-jetting equipment.
• Install and repair appliances such as water heaters, toilets, sinks, and faucets.
• Ensure all work complies with local plumbing codes and regulations.
• Prepare estimates and budgets for plumbing projects.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction and renovation projects.

Qualifications and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a technical school program or apprenticeship in plumbing.
• Journeyman or Master Plumber license as required by state/local regulations.
• Several years of professional plumbing experience.

Skills and Competencies:

• Thorough knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and installation techniques.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Physical strength and dexterity to work in tight spaces and handle heavy pipes.
• Good customer service skills.

Working Conditions:

• Work in a variety of settings, from new construction sites to dirty, wet environments repairing broken pipes.
• May be on-call for emergencies like leaks or floods.
