Job Description

A PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) Programmer designs, develops, and maintains control systems for industrial automation by programming PLCs to control machinery and processes. Key responsibilities include writing PLC logic, troubleshooting issues, creating and reviewing documentation, performing tests, and collaborating with engineering and production teams to improve system efficiency and reliability in manufacturing environments. Essential skills include proficiency in ladder logic and other PLC programming languages, a strong understanding of electrical principles, problem-solving abilities, and good communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Programming:Developing and implementing control programs for industrial machinery and automated processes using PLC programming languages like ladder logic. Design & Development:Creating detailed PLC programs from start to finish, including drawing schematics and developing logic for systems. Troubleshooting & Maintenance:Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving faults or issues within PLC systems to ensure continued operation and reliability. Testing:Performing comprehensive tests to verify the success and functionality of the PLC programs before and after installation. Documentation:Creating and reviewing technical documentation, such as schematics, programming procedures, and test protocols. Collaboration:Working closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing engineers, project managers, and technicians. System Improvement:Continuously monitoring and assessing system performance to identify and implement improvements for efficiency and reliability.

Key Skills

Technical Expertise:Deep knowledge of PLC programming languages (ladder logic, function block diagrams), automation principles, and electrical/mechanical systems. Problem-Solving:Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills to troubleshoot complex issues and find effective solutions. Attention to Detail:A keen eye for accuracy in programming, schematic design, and documentation. Communication:Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with teams, understand client needs, and provide support. Computer-Aided Design (CAD):Proficiency in CAD software for creating system diagrams. Teamwork & Independence:The ability to work effectively both independently and as a contributing member of a team.
