Job Description

MAJOR ROLE:

  • Ensure effective utilization of manpower and equipment by managing plant operations, optimizing production and control of relevant production costs.
  • Ensure consistent product quality as per required specifications.
  • Work cross functionally with internal stakeholders across multiple departments to improve plant performance and own P&L responsibilities.
Duties & Responsibilities: Operational
  • Ensure pre-production arrangements, are as per production plan in all shifts.
  • Setting up production plans and ensure the same within time and cost parameters by optimizing man & machine utilization.
  • Ensuring inspection and scheduling preventive maintenance on equipment's to avoid breakdowns.
  • Implementation of continuous improvement methods through proper analysis and monitoring of processes and plant operations which improve productivity.
  • Follow the product standards (international & local) by implementing testing procedures to ensure the product quality.
  • Ensuring adherence to quality standards, identifying areas of quality failures and taking steps to rectify deviations.
  • Enforce health and safety protocols during all stages of production.
  • Ensuring legal obligations are met in accordance with the requirements set by the regulatory bodies (EPA/PAI/MOSAL/KFD) and also health and safety protocols are followed and maintain necessary documents to ensure compliance.
  • Coordination with procurement team on raw materials purchase & QC team on quality controls.
  • Monitor KPI's related to productivity, output, operating costs and inventory control.
  • Review and ensure accurate and comprehensive reporting to CEO on daily basis to improve visibility and control.
Stock levels and inventory
  • Review and analyze stocks to ensure compliance to company policy.
  • Ensure effective warehouse management.
  • Carries out loss prevention measures to ensure zero wastage in raw material as well as finished product stocks.
Financials
  • Submit budgets and forecast operating expense plans to CEO for approval.
  • Continuous review of P&L's to ensure effective production as per job order and statistical data.
  • Control costs within budgetary guidelines.
People Management
  • Motivating & engaging plant staff and to ensure the staff represents and embraces organization goals and objectives.
  • Ensure development of plant staff through Learning & Development.
  • Set KPIs for direct reports and conduct performance appraisal.
  • Responsible for the induction and development of the team by providing on the job training and assessing progress, through proper orientation and performance improvement /development plan
  • To identify and proactively manage any poor performance issues using appropriate company policy.
Qualifications and requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering/mechanical engineering discipline.
  • 10-15 years knowledge about industrial manufacturing cycle and production timelines to ensure effective and timely delivery.
  • Sound knowledge of industry-specific plant equipment.
  • Should have knowledge in working with ERP systems & Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to all decision-making.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, written & verbal, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaborate with all levels within an organization.
