The PMV Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant, machinery, and vehicles (PMV) operations within Emarat Aloula. This role includes procurement, maintenance, safety compliance, cost control, and ensuring optimal utilization of PMV assets to support the company's operational needs efficiently and sustainably.
1. Asset Management:
Develop and implement a comprehensive PMV strategy aligned with Emarat Aloula objectives.
Ensure proper inventory management of all PMV assets, including their location, status, and condition.
Evaluate and recommend new equipment, machinery, and vehicle purchases based on project requirements and budgets.
Expertise in ERP systems, such as Oracle.
2. Maintenance and Repairs:
Establish and oversee preventive maintenance schedules for all PMV assets.
Coordinate and supervise repair and servicing activities, ensuring minimal downtime.
Liaise with internal teams and external vendors for quality maintenance and timely delivery of spare parts.
Identify areas of mechanical and electrical breakdowns and taking steps to rectify through application of troubleshooting tools.
Conduct evaluation of equipment and vehicles to keep the fleet updated and operational at sites.
3. Safety Compliance:
Ensure all PMV operations comply with local laws, regulations, and safety standards.
Conduct regular inspections to maintain safety standards and identify potential risks.
Train staff on the proper use and handling of machinery and vehicles.
Maintain the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and provide necessary support for Job Safety Analysis (JSA)/Risk Assessment.
4. Cost Management:
Prepare and manage the PMV department's capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operational expenditure (OPEX) while maintaining service quality.
Expertise in consistently increasing business turnover YOY by re-organizing business directions and through strategic initiatives and cost control measures.
Optimize asset utilization to maximize ROI.
Introduce high level of processes and promote new technologies to minimize the costs and improve margins.
5. Team Leadership:
Lead, train, and mentor a team of engineers and other PMV staff.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Conduct performance evaluations and address any skill gaps within the team.
6. Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of equipment history, repairs, fuel consumption, and utilization.
Prepare and present regular reports on PMV performance, costs, and operational efficiency.
Track KPIs to evaluate and improve the performance of the PMV department.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing plant, machinery, and vehicles, preferably in the construction or oil & gas industry.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, heavy equipment, and vehicle maintenance.
Familiarity with local regulations and compliance requirements in the UAE.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Proficiency in maintenance management software, Microsoft Office Suite, Oracle, etc.
Experience working in the UAE or GCC region.
Certifications in maintenance management or related fields are a plus (e.g., CMMS, Six Sigma).
Knowledge of sustainability practices and fuel efficiency optimization.
