Position Overview
Planning Engineer role focused on infrastructure and cycle track projects in Abu Dhabi, supporting detailed planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and claims analysis for complex civil and utility works. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely project delivery through robust schedule management, early identification of risks, and proactive coordination with contractors, consultants, and clients. Key Responsibilities
Review and convey Engineer's consent to contractor baseline schedules in line with contract conditions and Parsons recommended practices.
Validate compatibility of project resources to support timely project completion.
Develop and manage master schedules integrating multiple work packages and interdependencies.
Evaluate updated progress schedules, identify delays or slippages, highlight critical events, and recommend mitigation measures.
Perform what-if and time impact analysis for variations, changes, and potential delay events at early stages.
Prepare regular weekly and monthly progress reports with detailed program analysis and recommendations.
Assess and analyze contractor claims including extensions of time and disruption using recognized delay analysis methodologies such as time impact and window analysis.
Coordinate with contractors and employers to resolve planning and scheduling issues.
Liaise with the client to finalize contractor programs, reports, and claims submissions.
Attend project meetings including kick-off, technical coordination, service coordination, and progress review meetings, providing planning inputs and preparing concise records.
Prepare trackers and logs to monitor critical design and construction issues.
Agree on progress measurement systems and key performance indicators with consultants and contractors.
Provide analytical responses to contractor notices using programming data, sound construction practices, and contractual provisions.
Maintain accurate contemporary records and issue delay notices or performance letters where required.
Ideal Profile
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from a recognized institution.
Minimum 8 years of experience in planning, scheduling, and claims for infrastructure projects including roads, utilities, landscape, and O and M works.
Strong experience working on infrastructure and utilities projects with complex interface and coordination requirements.
Proficiency in Primavera P6 and related scheduling tools.
UAE Equivalency Certificate is mandatory.
