The railway will redefine logistics and transport in the region, providing a modern, safe, efficient, and sustainable network which will connect the seven emirates of the UAE to its neighboring GCC countries. Jacobs is looking for a Planner - Rolling Stock, to join one our Rail projects in UAE. The successful candidate will work as an integrated member of the Construction Supervision team. We are looking for a professional who will ensure client satisfaction and help strengthen our project delivery capabilities. You will have extensive knowledge and experience in project planning, budgeting, cost phasing and control from the project initiation to close out phases, utilizing computer based Primavera applications, within the framework of an integrated project services function for the effective management of a wide range of concurrent projects, to meet the business plan objectives. The successful applicant should possess the following skills and experience:
  • Reviewing key aspects of the project contract.
  • Responsible for the planning/scheduling activities that support the overall project requirements.
  • Coordination with contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to develop their programmes which support the overall programme objectives with due emphasis on interface and integration.
  • Provide guidance to contractors, subcontractors and suppliers for reporting and analysis of progress.
  • Working on project programme and earned value reporting aspects on projects and programs.
  • Establishing an effective project management and controls systems that compliments the project’s reporting systems and that integrate into the project systems.
  • Monitoring, refining, and improving the reporting and controls tools as required.
  • Responsible for establishing accurate and complete project progress and earned value reporting and other project controls deliverables for onward reporting to PMC and client.
  • Evaluating, selecting, and adapting programme management and control techniques, procedures, and criteria to suit job tasks, and devises and implements solutions to problems encountered.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
As a successful candidate you will have the following:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Must have a certification in planning and scheduling of projects and in using Primavera applications (Primavera Project Management /P6 and Primavera Contract Management/ Expedition).
  • Experience in a similar role with engineering consultancy or project management consultancy is desirable.
  • Completed at least one project in same role that is comparable in complexity and size to the project.
  • At least 10 years project management experience in planning, scheduling and cost engineering including at least 3 years using Primavera Project Management (P6), Primavera Contract Management (Expedition).
  • Middle East experience is desirable.
  • Rail experience.
  • Exposure to rolling stock.
  • Must have experience in dealing with PMC and clients.
  • Good oral and written English Language, with good report writing, analytical and computer skills.
  • Familiarity with the techniques for schedule impact analysis, and preferably conversant with the standard forms of Contracts.
