Marcom’s Middle East, CEE and Turkey teams form part of the global Marketing Communications organization at Apple who are responsible for all consumer facing communications. This includes advertising, apple.com, direct marketing, Apple retail, channel, video and partner communications. We are producers, writers, editors, graphic designers, traffic managers, developers, photographers; all driving towards crafting the world's best marketing communications. We are looking for an internationally experienced Strategic Planner to help ensure the flawless development and execution of world-class communications in support of Apple’s business goals. You will be instrumental in driving the rethinking and reimagining of how Apple communicates to its customers in the world today! This is a new role supporting the 5 diverse countries (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Poland, Czech & Turkey), and will work closely with each local Geo Leadership, Product Marketing and Brand Teams to identify and address the critical opportunities and challenges for Apple in this specific and diverse region. You will also partner with the worldwide Planning team based in Cupertino to provide insights, knowledge and inspiration to some of the best creative talent in the world, in order to foster the very best creative work that only Apple can, and should deliver. The role of any Planner at Apple is not to invent truths, but to uncover truths and help communicate them in the simplest, most inspiring and most engaging ways possible. Strategy is sacrifice, and we need someone who can look at a complex market landscape and confidently separate what we should do from what we could do.

Key Qualifications

  • Passion for working as a team but more importantly, to be proactive and self directing.
  • A deep understanding of, and extensive experience in brand communications.
  • A wide range of experience working on brands that tell inspiring and engaging stories.
  • A track record of leading strategic conversations with a diverse range of people in different fields.
  • Experience of collaborating with, and building real, productive relationships with creative people who span many fields - advertising, video, interactive, print, retail.
  • Strong commercial instincts, and proven experience in business problem identification and resolution.
  • Ability to derive meaning from data for more informed decision making.
  • Strong knowledge of the Channel, online and social environments:, key areas of focus for Apple.
  • Solid skills in core areas: Business and brand strategy, insights and research, media and communications planning.
  • Experience of establishing productive working relationships with key partners outside of the Marketing function.
  • Great writing skills, visual story-telling skills, and presentation skills.
  • Planning experience at a multinational creative agency or multinational business.

Description

Develop insight driven marketing briefs that inspire the best work possible. Most likely briefs for the markets within MERT, but this could also include helping to develop some specific WW briefs. Build relationships and garner insight from a variety of people across different disciplines within MERT and with the WW Planning team. This includes spending time in all four major countries within the region as well as Cupertino. Collaborate with the Product Marketing, Sales & Brand teams, to pinpoint and prioritize specific key marketing challenges and opportunities in each of the countries of the MERT region. Consolidate opportunities and priorities into Regional and Country Marketing Plans. Annually and Quarterly. Provide regular regionally-focused communication-based insights, competitive reviews and market snapshots that could impact briefs and subsequent creative work. Contribute strategic thinking and insights to select WW projects/initiatives. Draw on many different sources of insight and knowledge to weave together strong creative narratives, including data science and market insight teams. Foster positive relationships and partner closely and effectively with some of the most outstanding creatives in the world. Strive to build the best communication experiences possible, but never be satisfied that you achieved it. Consider and plan the customer experience of our comms across all owned and paid touch-points, in partnership with media teams (connections planning). Act as strategy client for agency partners, guiding and reviewing creative briefs and providing feedback on creative concepts.

Education & Experience

Additional Requirements

  • Strong command of Business English language.
  • The ability to travel freely and regularly (potentially monthly) between Dubai, Istanbul, Warsaw and Prague.
