Role Overview:

The Marine Piping Foreman is responsible for overseeing all piping-related activities onboard vessels or in shipyard facilities. This includes supervising the installation, repair, and modification of piping systems for various shipboard services such as fuel, ballast, seawater, freshwater, HVAC, and fire-fighting systems. The Piping Foreman ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to marine standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate daily tasks of pipefitters and welders for marine piping works. Plan and allocate resources to meet project timelines and quality requirements. Interpret piping drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, and material specifications. Oversee the fabrication, installation, and testing of piping systems onboard vessels and in workshops. Ensure proper pipe routing, fit-up, support installation, and alignment. Inspect work to ensure compliance with classification society rules and shipyard quality standards. Coordinate with other trades (mechanical, structural, electrical) to avoid conflicts and delays. Ensure adherence to safety procedures and toolbox talks for the team. Report progress, material needs, and any technical issues to the Piping Supervisor or Project Manager. Train and mentor junior team members and new hires.

Candidate Profile:

Technical diploma or certification in Mechanical/Piping Engineering or equivalent trade. Minimum 5-8 years of experience in piping works, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role in the marine or offshore industry. Strong knowledge of marine piping systems, materials (carbon steel, CuNi, stainless steel), and welding processes. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and P&ID diagrams. Familiarity with marine classification society standards (e.g., DNV, ABS, BV). Good organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Comfortable working in drydock, onboard vessels, or offshore environments. Experience with high-pressure piping systems. Knowledge of hydrotesting, pneumatic testing, and leak checks. Familiarity with shipbuilding and repair project cycles. Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.

Pay: AED3,300.00 - AED3,500.00 per month
